He survived by working for other companies, running cranes and operating equipment on their projects instead of his own.

In spring 2024, Mark bought his own dozer and restarted Hayden Excavation with a clear purpose: to build something for his son Hayden instead of having him work for random guys. Hayden, now 19, is being trained in the business—learning the same equipment operation skills and no-nonsense approach that have defined Mark's career.

The company serves Galveston County and surrounding communities throughout the Texas Gulf Coast region.
